Hi to you all,
Bought my 1986 aspy 6 weeks ago with 35,000 miles on the clock. Runs great, have had to do the starter rebuild and now fires up cold and hot easily.
Lots of useful information here, just need the weather to improve, it's another great summer for riding in the UK, don't leave home without the wet gear.

Thanks again to you all for the warm welcome.
I can now see why so many of you keep these bikes and enjoy them, i have only put about 800 miles on it now (mostly in the wet), it handles well for a big tourer and that engine sure has some torque once you get the gear changing right, just need to get used to the linked braking as Iv'e had various harleys over the past 25 years, so got used to engine braking, but i'm getting there, overall a great bike for long hauls.
Have looked at wings for a long time and made a good choice by getting one, just wan't the sun now, I'm fed up wearing the wet gear all the time.
