All,
In the process of getting my cassette player fixed (needed a new drive belt), I found an absolutely great online store. This store stocks repair parts and kits for tons of old electronics including VCRs and cassette decks. Good Lord, they even have vacuum tubes for guitar amps! The site is http://www.studiosoundelectronics.com Great site, great service. I received my new drive belt from them in two days. My cassette player is back together and I'm cruisin' to some of my favorite old 60s and 70s tunes on cassette! The part number for the belt that fits our cassette deck is SBS12.4 (Small Belt Square - 12.4 inches x 0.46 inches). It costs $1.15. I also ordered a bottle of belt drive non-slip for $6.95 to put some life back into the rubber on the old pinch rollers. That seemed to work well. It's not a cleaner, its a coating that puts some "stick" back into the rubber. If you use it, don't use too much and don't get any on the metal drive shafts, as those need to be clean. Check out the site. They have tons of stuff. Next I'm buying the rubber drive parts repair kit for my old Mitsubishi VCR. Bob
