Speaker Grill Covers
I needed to remove my front speaker grill covers to get at the clip that the mirrors mount onto (long story) and after 20+ years the little tabs have given up.
It looks like all the after market one use the original grills to stick to.
Short of going back to Honda and hoping there still in stock somewhere anyone got another source?

You can find a set on ebay. They are on there pretty often. If you watch on there, you can make some good finds.

I bought a speaker cover, not a blank, from servicehonda.com for around $25.00 plus shipping. They were still available six months ago. New was cheaper than ebay, and I didn't have to do any bidding.

Worst case, you can get them from Sierra Electronics, this link should take you right to them

<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.sierra-mc.com/proddetail.asp?prod=HON%2DGL12%2DSPKR%2DBLK%2DKT">http://www.sierra-mc.com/proddetail.asp ... 2DBLK%2DKT</a><!-- m -->

I didn't know about servicehonda.com having them so I bought them from Sierra; they were $50.00 a set. They look like OEM items to me.

I took mine apart this past weekend, and all the parts are still in great shape. (Though that pesky clip slipped out of my phat phingers and landed down in the bottom of the fairing pump side where the pocket used to be. THAT was fun!)

Bought new speakers to replace the 23 year old ones though. Those paper cones can't be what it used to be.

Smile Another little trick I came up with is to glue some velcro to the back of the speaker cover and to the base unit and put it in place .. Mine has been on like that for several years now.

The Sierra Electronics speaker covers are the real thing... and the tabs break just as easily. My dash can't be aligned perfectly and I used just a little too much persuasion on the left cover and broke one of the tabs off. Sad I went to my local hardware store and bought 4 stainless steel metal screws with black coated heads, drilled the covers and the dash and screwed them down tight. With the black coating, the screw heads aren't too obtrusive and I *know* they aren't going to come off on the road somewhere!

I'll be listing my Interstate blank covers in the appropriate section of the forum if anyone is interested.

I put a black screw right through the front of mine on my 1200 also after one blew off.Just one on each cover and you really had to look to see them.
