Wiring questions
I have just discovered I don't have the Intercom Junction box fitted on my Wing, and I'm struggling to find one. I have read somewhere that it is possible to make one and have a couple of questions. I hope someone can help.
Thanks,
Hamish

1. Is the wiring for the Din's the same on our Bikes as for the 1500/1800, and is it as shown in this photo?

2. I know the Din from the Panasonic unit to the Junction Box is Male, what fitting should I fit to the end of the Rider/Passenger leads ready for Headsets to attach to, Male or Female.

I don't know if there is any electronic circuitry in the headset junction box, but there are two female 5 pin DIN plugs coming from the box ready for the headset male plugs.
The wiring is the same as the headsets can be used for either 1200 or 1500.
Do not allow the grounds to touch, yes it calls them grounds but if they do touch you will get a tremendous squealing through the headset.
The circuitry allows for voice activated noise cancellation so I don't think it's just a question of hooking up two female leads to the one from the radio.
The only stupid questions are the one's that are not asked.

Hamish,

Like you my 1200 has no intercom fitted. I brought an Autocom Active 7 unit off of ebay for £36 with a headset and mic. It only takes a few minutes to fit and is a very good piece of kit, you can connect you mobile and MP3 player to it too. http://www.autocom.co.uk/pages/autocom_ ... -smart.htm
