My question is WHY?

There is no after market radio that will hook up directly and allow the continuation of AVC and Intercom or CB.

If that isnt a big deal I can't see why you couldnt put something in there, lots of Interstate owners do, then again lots of them try to aquire the Panasonic type3 system because it fits and is sufficient.

Of course it might not give you concert sound but it is a bike.

If your honda/Panasonic isnt working you might get help on that.
The only stupid questions are the one's that are not asked.

the stereo works fine, but as i do not use the intercom/ cb, i would like to have the option to have a cd player, that way, i can load my mp3 disc in, and forget about it all.

One option you might want to consider is an in-line FM modulator. It would be alot easier to hook-up than changing the entire stereo out and you would have the stock intercom in case you needed it.

Right now i'm useing an MP3 player with an plug-in external FM modulator and I love it! I'm going with the inline mod. so I don't have to worry about batteries going dead and getting overpowered by a radio station.

Then why not add an FM modulator and either an MP3 Player or mp3 cd player and run through the regular system, mine works ok. That way you have the best of both worlds, your music running through the system that has the AVC, probably a lot cheaper than the way you want to try it.

There is no documented method that I know of.

There is also a way of adding a 1/8 mini plug to certain models of the panasonic radio do some searching here for it.

i have not tried the fm modulator, but i did get a cassette adapter, basically its a tape, with a fly lead to my mp3, while it worked ok, it is just so very quiet

ok, ive tried everything, and with the amp being bust, and me not finding my headset, ive decided the stereo is going for an aftermarket one.

so does anyone know how to remove the craddle for the stereo and how to go about fitting a normal car radio please?
